About Us

J.H. Keeso & Sons Ltd.

Our family has its roots in agriculture dating back as far as the late 1800’s. As a custom threshing operation using a steam locomotive, our forefathers became familiar with most aspects of area farms including their timber resources. After years of sawing lumber at farms in local townships, a permanent facility was built in Listowel Ontario sometime before 1921.
Today we operate a progressive sawmill on Highway 23 just north of the town of Listowel, which we built in 1984. Being firm believers in the good stewardship of landowners’ woodlands, we are continually updating both our processing methods and employee training, in order that we may recover as much valuable wood fiber as possible from every one of their logs.
Computerized technology has allowed us to be competitive in the global economy – a must for today’s manufacturers. This area’s highest quality hardwoods and the management of them are a great part of our past and continued ranking in the sawmill business.
